About the Project
“Diana” Charitable Society is implementing the project named “Intercultural Communication and Interaction for Third Country Nationals Integration”, with the reference number IF/08.05/05.01, financed from the European Fund for the Third Country Nationals Integration, The Annual Program 2008, which is part of the “Solidarity and Administration of the Migratory Flows”.
The project will be implemented nationwide, between the 31st of March and the 29th of June 2010.

The general objective of the project is to develop an intercultural environment which will facilitate the integration and social cohesion of the Third Country Nationals living on Romanian territory, by means of specific actions which will facilitate the intercultural communication between Third Country Nationals and the officials of the local and central public authorities.
The specific objectives of the project:
- Increasing the knowledge level regarding intercultural communication for at least 102 officials of the local and central public authorities, by means of organizing six training sessions regarding intercultural communication, in București, Constanța, Cluj-Napoca, Galați and Baia-Mare, during the project’s implementation period,
- Facilitating the access to information regarding intercultural communication, by means of creating and printing an intercultural communication pocket manual, in 1400 copies, and distributing it to the relevant agents which activate in the Third Country Nationals social integration domain (juridical institutions, educational institutions, NGOs, etc.),
- Promoting and enhancing the visibility extent of the project, nationwide, and of the central and local public institutions’ efforts regarding the support given to the Third Country Nationals.
Immediate beneficiaries of the project:
- 102 officials from central and local public authorities from București, Constanța, Cluj-Napoca, Galați and Baia-Mare, who will attend training sessions regarding intercultural communication
- Officials from Romanian Imigration Office’s territorial structures, who will consult the intercultural communication pocket manual distributed on INTRANET and on paper support
- The relevant agents which activate in the Third Country Nationals integration domain, and which will receive one copy of the intercultural communication pocket manual, and therefore will interact more effectively with the Third Country Nationals.
Indirect beneficiaries of the project:
- The Third Country Nationals who will interact with the public officials trained during the intercultural communication sessions and/or who consulted the intercultural communication pocket manual (after they received a copy or downloaded it from the on-line platform www.imigrant.filantropicadiana.ro
- Other individuals who are interested in the interculturality domain, in communication between different cultures, after downloading the pocket manual from the platform mentioned before,
- Local communities hosting Third Country Nationals,,
- The officials who work in public institutions and who are playing a role in Third Country Nationals integration, benefiting from a good practice model,
- Third Country Nationals’ families.
Among project activities:
- Creating an intercultural communication pocket manual
- Organizing 6 intercultural communication training sessions
- Organizing 2 press conferences
- Developing the on-line project platform,
- Distributing the results and the good practice model.
Anticipated results:
- 1400 copies of the intercultural communication pocket manual, printed and distributed to the relevant agents activating in the Third Country Nationals integration domain
- Minimum 102 public officials, trained within the 6 intercultural communication training sessions
- Developing the on-line project platform
- Organizing two press conferences, for the mediatization of the project
- Printing and distributing the project’s promoting materials.
